Frequently Asked Questions

Answers on cost, glass types, lead times, installation and care — for frameless shower doors, mirrors, railings and glass projects across the First Coast.
How much do frameless shower doors cost in Jacksonville?
Most frameless shower doors in Jacksonville run about $1,000-$3,500 installed. Price depends on glass thickness (3/8" vs 1/2"), enclosure size and configuration, hardware finish, and upgrades like low-iron glass or protective coating. A single inline door is the lowest-cost option; large multi-panel or steam enclosures cost more.
How long does it take to install a frameless shower door?
After an on-site laser measurement, your custom glass is fabricated and installed in roughly 7-14 days. The on-site install itself usually takes 2-4 hours. Plan to let the silicone cure 24-48 hours before using the shower.
How much does a custom vanity mirror cost vs a store-bought one?
A custom mirror costs more than an off-the-shelf one but is cut to fit your exact wall, with the edge style and cutouts you want. Price depends on size, edge work, and any cutouts; we quote after measuring on-site.
What is the difference between a beveled and flat polished edge?
A flat polished edge is smooth and minimal for a clean modern look. A beveled edge is angled and catches light along the border for a more decorative, framed appearance. Both are finished so the edge is safe and refined.
How much do glass railings cost per linear foot in Florida?
Glass railing cost is driven by system type (standoff, channel, or post), glass thickness, hardware finish, and whether coastal wind-load rating is required. We quote per project after measuring; oceanfront and code-rated jobs cost more than interior stair rails.
Are glass railings code-compliant in Florida?
Yes. We build to the Florida Building Code using tempered or laminated safety glass, code-compliant heights, and hardware rated for the application, including wind-load requirements on coastal balconies.
How is a steam shower enclosure different from a regular shower?
A steam enclosure seals the entire shower so vapor can't escape. The glass runs to the ceiling with a fixed transom and an operable vent, plus a full vapor seal and heavier hardware, where a standard frameless shower is open at the top.
Do steam showers need a sealed top or transom?
Yes. To keep steam inside, the enclosure is closed at the top with a transom panel and includes an operable vent you open after your steam session to let moisture out. This sealed design is what makes it a steam-rated enclosure.
Are LED backlit mirrors worth it?
LED backlit mirrors add even, flattering light and a modern look, and many include dimming and anti-fog features. For a primary vanity that gets daily use, the upgrade is popular and practical, especially in custom sizes that fit your space exactly.
Do you install anti-fog mirrors?
Yes. We offer LED mirrors with built-in defogger pads that keep the surface clear after a hot shower, which is helpful in humid First Coast bathrooms.
What size mirror do I need for a home gym?
Most home-gym walls use mirrors mounted starting low enough to see your form and tall enough to cover standing exercises. We measure your wall and fabricate large panels to span it with minimal seams.
Are gym mirrors safety-backed?
We offer safety-backed (shatter-resistant) mirror glass for gyms and studios, which holds together if struck, an important feature for spaces with weights or active movement.
Is glass pool fencing code-compliant in Florida?
Yes, when built to spec. Florida's residential pool-barrier code requires the barrier be at least 60 inches high with a compliant ground offset and self-closing, self-latching gates. We design frameless glass pool fencing to meet these requirements.
How tall does a pool fence have to be in Florida?
Florida residential pool-barrier code requires a barrier at least 60 inches (5 feet) high, with limits on the gap at the bottom and self-closing, self-latching gates. Our glass pool fencing is built to these heights and clearances.
How much do glass office walls cost per linear foot?
Cost depends on glazing (single vs acoustic double), framing system, doors, and any switchable glass. Demountable and acoustic systems cost more than single-glaze fixed walls. We quote per project after reviewing your floor plan.
Are glass partition walls soundproof?
No glass wall is fully soundproof, but acoustic double-glazed partitions significantly reduce sound transfer between offices and meeting rooms, which is usually the goal in open workplaces.
How much does commercial storefront glass cost?
Storefront cost depends on the system (aluminum framed vs all-glass), glass type (standard vs impact-rated), door hardware, and opening size. Impact-rated systems cost more but may be required by code. We quote each job on-site.
Is impact-rated storefront glass required in Jacksonville?
Many Jacksonville commercial projects require impact-rated or otherwise code-compliant storefront glazing for wind and debris resistance. We design storefronts to meet the applicable Florida Building Code requirements for your location.
